Testimonial

“Working with Future Media has been more than a vendor-client relationship. It is having a group of trusted partners and colleagues that anticipate and solve issues before they become problems and come up with creative solutions that are not only effective marketing tools — they actually make the entire company more efficient.

In just one month Glyph has already changed how my department functions. It has freed up my designers to actually design, not constantly make copy changes on the new site. Most important, it has empowered the individual departments at the College, those staff and faculty that know what they do so well, to capture and keep fresh and tell the public what they do and why it is unique and distinct. From planning, to programming, from design to implementation, from training to budgeting, Future Media met and went beyond expectations and I would recommend this company very highly to any firm that doesn't want just a new web site, but a new way of doing business.”

The College of Saint Rose

The College of Saint Rose needed a new website that was easier to use, with a look and feel that matched their other award winning communications materials. But Saint Rose also knew that this very large website required more than a simple redesign. So they asked FutureMedia to help.

The process began with a thorough consultation. This clearly identified goals and challenges, and planned detailed solutions that would help Saint Rose meet these objectives.

BRING WEBSITE AUTHORING TO THE MASSES

Saint Rose had already identified their main challenge — one that is all too common. Content experts throughout the campus community had frequent needs for edits to their Web pages. But only a handful of staff had the technical expertise to actually do this maintenance. This sometimes meant long waits for small changes, while higher priority tasks monopolized available resources.

It became apparent that Saint Rose didn’t just need a Content Management System (CMS). They needed a CMS that distributed the creation of web content to non-technical content experts, while the school maintained control of the website’s branding, design and structure.
FutureMedia’s Glyph Collaborative Publishing System helped Saint Rose succeed on all accounts.

Using Glyph, Saint Rose’s content authors can now easily create and manage complex and attractive pages. No programming skills are required. In fact, in preparation for their relaunch, a group of less than 100 people created a website with more than 1,200 new pages — in less than two months!

EMPOWERING CONTENT CREATORS

Using Glyph, content authors can easily create and manage complex and attractive pages. These pages can include media elements and dynamic content that are not easily supported by other Content Management Systems. And content authors are empowered to create the content without having to consider site structure or visual brand. No programming skills are required. Glyph’s editing tools emphasize usability and ease of use, so that content authors can spend their time working on their content rather than learning to use complicated software.

A NEW WAY TO MANAGE CONTENT

With distributed responsibility for content, an organization’s communications and IT staff can instead focus on special features, branding and design. Control over message and content is delegated to the experts in the college community, who no longer need to wait in a queue for changes to be made.

A powerfully simple User Management and Workflow system lets website managers fine tune permissions and retain editorial control. Automated Website Maintenance features such as auto live, auto archive and dynamic content tokens and menus automate many maintenance tasks.
