The Toshiba America Consumer Products website was completely redesigned by FutureMedia in order to create a more powerful marketing tool. Now, Toshiba's website speaks directly to consumers about Toshiba products, and provides more assistance to visitors when comparing the many different models and features.

Toshiba wanted the new site to do a better job of helping consumers understand their products' valuable features, advantages and benefits. Our redesign improved the website's appearance and usability, and the quality of information available. It also provided a greater number of promotional and educational opportunities such as interactive product demos and buyer's guides. These can be found throughout the site, as well as in a special What to Look For section.

With a large range of new products introduced each year, the number of product features and specifications totals in the thousands. It was vital that all of this technical information not be overwhelming to the casual consumer; at the same time, it was important that those customers who are looking for detail still had access to all they required.

To reduce maintenance costs and ensure that the website stays as current as possible, it was essential that updates be quick and efficient, and that the site was flexible and powerful enough to handle the constant changes to product data. A complete overhaul of the website's back-end was done to enable fast and efficient site edits and maintenance, including - if needed - substantial changes to the look and feel of the interface.

The return on investment has been excellent:

  • Average duration of site visits doubled to 4 minutes 45 seconds.
  • Average number of repeat visitors climbed from a low of 10% to well over 30%.
